I have had many conversations the last few weeks about how Port Clinton has stepped up for PC Middle School student Devin Kohlman. Mary Alice and I attended the fundraiser at Lock, Dock and Barrel last Thursday night. What a turnout, and they raised nearly $20,000 for Devin’s family. When I was there, I walked up to PC Police Chief Rob Hickman and thanked him for his leadership that got the community focused on a sick young man, rather than all the political in-fighting we have seen over the past few years. Somebody had to lead the way, and Rob, along with his wife Roseann, stepped up big time. I promised him I wouldn’t write anything…but I lied!
